Our Beginnings as Hebron Silver Wings
Diane Craig attended McLennan Community College where she was an officer for the MCC Dance Company and then transferred to Stephen F. Austin State University where she was a SFA Pom Squad member for three years, serving as Captain her senior year. Diane led the team in winning the NCA Collegiate Dance National Championship which was the first win in the history of the SFA Pom Squad.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Dance as well as her Masters of Education in Secondary Administration. During College she taught dance at a summer camp for Youth for Outstanding Opportunities “Teen at Risk Program.” Diane also served as a ten-year member of the Marching Auxiliaries Dance Staff.
Diane began her teaching career at Corsicana High School where she served one year as the assistant drill team director under Kara Guinn, for the Corsicana Calicos. Diane then served four years as the head director for the Cedar Hill High Steppers.
Diane just celebrated her eleventh year with the Hebron High School Silver Wings. She had the honor of opening the school in 1999, and has been blessed with the opportunity to create and maintain the Silver Wings standard. Diane is amazed at the growth of the young ladies and the dance program in the short ten years she has been at Hebron. The Silver Wings are the first public school to be awarded the title of Marching Auxiliary National Champions in 2006 and again in 2007, and have gone on to win the HTE Dance National Champions in 2009 and 2010, and American Dance and Drill Team School Team and Officers National Champions in 2011.
Diane is proud that she has seen many students come through her program and continue in dance.
