Silver Wings Directors

MADDIE COTHRUN ~ head DIRECTOR

Maddie Cothrun is excited for her first year at Hebron High School as the Silver Wings Director and Dance Teacher! Ms. Cothrun comes to Lewisville ISD with eight years of experience in education. She has previously taught at McMillen High School as the Dazzlers Drill Team Director and at J.J. Pearce High School as the Pacesetter Assistant Drill Team Director. Ms. Cothrun is a former Pacesetter having served as Junior Lieutenant her junior year and Captain her senior year.

Ms. Cothrun attended Kilgore College where she was a member of the World Famous Kilgore College Rangerettes. Her performance credits as a Rangerette include a Dallas Cowboy’s game, Goodyear’s Cotton Bowl Classic, the State Fair of Texas, Contest of Champions at Walt Disney World, and the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Dublin, Ireland. Ms. Cothrun earned her Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees from Kilgore College, graduating with honors. She went on to complete her undergraduate degree at Texas A&M University in College Station. At A&M, she was an active member of the Kappa Delta sorority and Dance Arts Society. She graduated from Texas A&M Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Dance with minors in Leadership and Business.

Beyond the classroom, Ms. Cothrun is on staff with Spirit of America Productions, chaperoning dancers for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City. She is also on staff with Contest of Champions, a national dance competition held in Florida each year. She has formerly taught tap, ballet, and drill prep classes at Melva Smith School of Dance, now Legacy Dance Boutique, where she grew up dancing. Ms. Cothrun is looking forward to joining the Hebron community and developing her students’ love for dance!

LExi Pirtle ~ Assistant DIRECTOR

Lexi Pirtle grew up in Carrollton, Texas where she danced competitively, and was also a dance officer for the Hebron High School Silver Wings! She then attended Kilgore College where she was on the 80th line of the Kilgore College Rangerettes. Lexi got the opportunity to travel and perform at places like The Goodyear Cotton Bowl, The Birmingham International Tattoo in England, The Inaugural Ball and The Dallas Holiday Parade. She then transferred to Texas A&M University where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Dance and a double minor in Youth Education and Leadership Skills.

Lexi has spent the past 3 years as a competitive dance team director, choreographing and teaching competition dance for Expressions Dance Center in College Station and Dance Industry Performing Arts Center in Plano. She is well versed in jazz, ballet, contemporary, modern, hip-hop and drill technique. She has a huge passion for teaching dance and creating a positive and inviting environment to allow students to grow in their dancing abilities.

When Lexi is not sharing her passion of dance, she enjoys working out, playing with her dogs, and spending time with her family and friends.
