Silver Wings Directors

LAUREN WHEELER ~ head DIRECTOR

 Lauren Wheeler grew up in Flower Mound, Texas where she    was a dance officer on her high school  drill team. She then  joined the Kilgore College Rangerettes as a member of the  79th line.  Lauren had the opportunity to travel and perform at  the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade, The Goodyear Cotton Bowl,  The State Fair of Texas, The Italian Bowl in Modena, Italy, and  The Birmingham International Tattoo in Birmingham, England.  She graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of  Arts in dance.

 

 Lauren has spent the last three years choreographing and teaching at the recreational and competitive level for a local dance studio in Lubbock, TX. She is well versed in ballet, contemporary, lyrical, jazz, hip hop, and more. With several solo, trio, and group awards behind her, Lauren’s passion is helping students explore their capabilities while building an uplifting community.

 

Aside from dance, Lauren enjoys lifting weights at the gym, spending time with family and her yellow lab, Bailey, and being involved in her church. She is excited to join the Silver Wings family and looks forward to a year of dance and making memories!

 

 

LExi Pirtle ~ Assistant DIRECTOR

 

Lexi Pirtle grew up in Carrollton, Texas where she danced competitively, and was also a dance officer for the Hebron High School Silver Wings! She then attended Kilgore College where she was on the 80th line of the Kilgore College Rangerettes. Lexi got the opportunity to travel and perform at places like The Goodyear Cotton Bowl, The Birmingham International Tattoo in England, The Inaugural Ball and The Dallas Holiday Parade. She then transferred to Texas A&M University where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Dance and a double minor in Youth Education and Leadership Skills.

 

Lexi has spent the past 3 years as a competitive dance team director, choreographing and teaching competition dance for Expressions Dance Center in College Station and Dance Industry Performing Arts Center in Plano. She is well  versed in jazz, ballet, contemporary, modern, hip-hop and drill technique. She has a huge passion for teaching dance and creating a positive and inviting environment to allow students to grow in their dancing abilities.

 

 When Lexi is not sharing her passion of dance, she enjoys working out, playing with her dogs, and spending time with her family and friends. She is more than excited to be a part of this wonderful organization and looks forward to an incredible year with the Silver Wings!
